“ Portugal Found a Home in Sonoma: Just off the square in Sonoma sits a little gem that punches far above its weight: Tasca Tasca. It's cozy, open-kitchen charm hits you the second you walk in--staff buzzing, pans sizzling, and the aroma of garlic, saffron, and wine whispering you're in the right place. This isn't your average tapas spot. Think Portuguese soul food done with precision and heart. Every dish we had felt curated, balanced, and steeped in tradition with just enough flair to surprise you. Standouts? All of them. Kale salad with anchovy dressing--umami meets crunch, humble but addictive. best presentation and taste I've had with kale in some time. Monterey squid with white beans--tender, rustic, coastal perfection. Boquerones--bright, briny, almost kissed with vinegar on a hard boiled egg. Steak tartare--rich, vibrant, and not shy with seasoning. Saffron piri-piri potatoes--like a hug from Lisbon's spice rack. Don't miss the aioli it's on the bottom. Hints of saffron awaken any taste buds still napping. Goat stew--slow-cooked, fall-apart, earthy magic. And then our dessert choice knocked us flat: Portuguese olive oil ice cream and a chocolate mousse--what even is that flavor combo? Unholy? Divine? Either way, it works. BOOM. But the real kicker--the sangria. Easily the best I've ever had. Pomegranate and passionfruit with just the right balance of sweet and tart, layered and lush. A drink worth driving for. Tasca Tasca doesn't shout. It just does everything right. From the friendly, knowledgeable staff to the warm atmosphere and that clear love of food--it's the kind of place you tell your friends about and secretly hope they never make a reservation before you do. Highly, highly recommended. This is a taste trip worth taking. Cheers and thank you! ”
“ Cute and cozy restaurant, lovely staff and delicious tapas at a reasonable price for the quality. It was a great place for a girls get together. Thank you Tasca Tasca! ”
“ I loved the concept here, you pick a bunch of small items and have a little feast for yourself! Everything was excellent and so tasty, just the right quantity to not get overwhelmed. Lovely wine selection, and the staff were really friendly and helpful! Got this lovely spread here before seeing a show at the theater across the square. Highly recommend! ”
“ My husband and I came here for lunch and got player parking! I was curious with this place and love that you get to try different food. Great service!! We got the 5 items tasting menu. It was actually pretty big. I can't remember everything we tried but it included wings (they actually give a lot for a tasting menu)_, fave was ceviche, steak tartare and other things. I would come back to try more things. ”
“ We ordered a variety of tapas, and each one was delicious! The fried pig ears didn't make it into the picture, but they were the best tapa I had yesterday, followed closely by the morcela and the mac and cheese with linguiça. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection! The flan was also great, especially paired with a Porto flight. Our server was a superstar--she was incredibly busy but still managed to provide excellent service to everyone. The decor is warm and inviting, making for a wonderful dining experience. ”
“ Tapas are so fun to share as a group! We got the fried green beans, crab empanadas, ceviche, anchovies, salt cod cake, shishito peppers, duck breast, Mac and cheese, scallops and pig trotter terrine. Try everything! The cured meats and seafood are definitely worth getting! We don't often get dessert at lunch but the chocolate piri piri ice cream was fun to try! The service was good. They weren't too busy on a Sunday afternoon, so the staff were very friendly and attentive. ”
“ If you love to try a bunch of things and not be tied down to a single entree, this is for you. Portuguese tapas! We love Portugal, and we love having this experience in Sonoma County. Must try: Fried pig's ear (yes, just do it!!) Bacalao (cod cakes) Crab empanadas Shrimp ceviche Olive oil ice cream Delicious and a really good deal! ”
“ I can't believe I still have not left a review for Tasca Tasca. It is by far one of our favorite places to eat at, in Sonoma. The service is always warm & extremely friendly, we aren't only checked on by our server but everyone else working there always makes sure we are being taken care of. You can't go wrong with anything you order, but for sure the Pig Ears are always a must! The food is very filling & seasoned perfectly, as my husband says, "it should be a crime for the food to taste this good!". They can accommodate large groups but since the space is small, I'd recommend making a reservation for groups larger than 4 people -- especially on a weekend. Photo 7 Items - Front left to right : steak tartare, potatoes "ao murro" Back left to right: smoked duck breast, pate of sardines, shrimp passion fruit ceviche, fried spicy pig's ears, Dungeness crab empadas ”
“ Great place to grab some nibbles while wandering around Sonoma Plaza. Of course, I'm always looking for a Tapas type place so I feel like this was destined for me anyways. Portuguese in style and flavors, they have a number of tapas to pick from. How it works.... First figure out how hungry you are. Then take a look at the menu to see what catches your eye. Then determine how many you want to try... 3, 5, 7 for lunch. I wasn't super hungry and I knew we'd be having a wine and snacks later. So, we each went with 3. We pobably should have just ordered the 7 for the 2 of us as that would have been the better 'deal' so to speak. Oh well. Live and Learn. Serrano Ham - Great flavor, savory, tender, melted in your mouth. Not super salty. More Please. Beet salad - Big fresh chunks of beets! Light and Tasty! Picles (aka pickled veg) - These were fantastic. I would have purchased a jar to go if they offered it. Tosta Mista - SOOOOO Good! I mean... literally cannot go wrong with serrano ham, melted cheese on a lovely piece of toasted bread. Piri Piri Potatoes - Good but I would have preferred the outside of the potato to be crispier... Still they went well with everything else we ordered. Boquerones (white anchovies) - Yum! Now .... before you turn your nose up to anchovies.... you really should give these a try. White Anchovies are nothing like their cousin - the anchovies that are typically put on pizzas or used in the Caesar salad dressing. Those are very strongly fishy flavored and super fishy oily. White Anchovies are not. They are more delicate in flavor. Yes, they still have a fish flavor, but it is not as off-putting in flavor or smell as the other kind. I first had these in Spain and now look everywhere for them. Still the best was the ones we had in Spain. The search continues.... until I can go back. Would definitely come back to Tasca Tasca if we find ourselves in the area again. PS.... they are next door to my fave bubbly bar... SIGH! So, if you can start at one and then go to the other ... since they are next door to one another. ”
